| Kensico Cemetery (1889 - 1899) |
"One of the many advantages of Kensico Cemetery is the Car Kensico (which) can be secured at a moderate cost, attached to a regular train, run as a special. The engine is turned on our turn-table and is always ready to depart from the Cemetery as soon as the mourners return from the Tomb or Grave. For absolute privacy of a funeral party, leaving the Grand Central Station, it is so arranged that the round trip can be made without the slightest contact with the traveling public. The interior of the Car Kensico has three compartments: one for the remains, one for the immediate family, seating twelve persons, and one comprising balance of car for friends and relatives, seating thirty persons."
