PETER DEROSE & SINGHI BREEN DEROSE
Turn left onto Cherokee, go back to Tecumseh and turn right just before the intersection of Katahdin Avenue, under the shade of a tall oak, is the musically-adorned memorial belonging to composer Peter DeRose and his wife, Singhi Breen DeRose. The names of his most famous songs, "When Your Hair Has Turned To Silver", "Wagon Wheels" and "When The Deep Purple Falls", all popular in the first half of the 20th century, are etched into DeRose's monument. You will also note the touching tribute to Peter from his wife, "Every friend he ever made, he kept".
