| HERBERT H. LEHMAN |
| Follow Iroquois Avenue as it curves around, then comes to a circle. At this point, stop and leave your vehicle parked near the Detmer mausoleum. Passing to the right of the Detmer mausoleum, continue until you come to a spacious lot surrounded by shrubs. Here is the family plot belonging to Herbert Henry Lehman. Born in New York City on March 28, 1878, Herbert Lehman served as a four-term governor of New York State and as a U.S.senator. Famous for his implementation of a "Little New Deal" reform program that paralleled President Roosevelt's New Deal, Lehman remained influential in the reform movement within New York's Democratic party until his death in 1963. |
