Why visit Kensico?

Since 1889, Kensico Cemetery has connected with visitors with interests in history, art, and nature in unique and personal ways. The Kensico Cemetery Arboretum’s recent Level II designation gives visitors an opportunity to enjoy the 460 acres of hillsides, woodlands, and ponds, where they will find 101 labeled tree species along Kensico’s main roads.

Our Historical Tour provides a roadmap for discovering some of the famous people buried at Kensico as well as one-of-a-kind architecture. Whether it’s a baseball fan paying tribute to a Yankee legend, an artist looking for inspiration from nature, or a family member coming to an ancestor’s gravesite, our wish is for all who travel our roads and explore the beauty of our landscape a comfortable and peaceful visit.
