Why visit Kensico?
Since 1889, Kensico Cemetery has connected with visitors with interests in history, art, and nature in unique and personal ways. Our new arboretum status gives visitors an opportunity to enjoy the 460 acres of hillsides, woodlands, and ponds by following the Kensico Arboretum Tour of 44 trees.
Our Historical Tour provides a roadmap for discovering some of the famous people buried at Kensico as well as one-of-a-kind architecture. Whether it’s a baseball fan paying tribute to a Yankee legend, an artist looking for inspiration from nature, or a family member coming to an ancestor’s gravesite, our wish is for all who travel our roads and explore the beauty of our landscape a comfortable and peaceful visit.
